“I’m sorry, we don’t have any beds at the moment.” It’s a phrase I say over and over throughout the day. I offer the caller other numbers at which to seek shelter, only to hear that those shelters are also full or they don’t feel safe going there.
June 14, 2022 - An announcement of over $22.4 million of federal funding that will be divided towards three projects to create an estimate of 66 new homes through the Rapid Housing Initiative.
As we close the door on 2021, I can’t help but stop and reflect on the strength of Cornerstone’s Community. This past year was filled with unprecedented pressures but together, we found the strength to move on.
January 12, 2022 – Ottawa, ON - Cornerstone Housing for Women is set to return this month to its original shelter location in Centertown after thirteen months of temporary shelter solutions. Cornerstone will be returning with 53 women.
With 2021 coming to an end, I reflect on my first year with Cornerstone Housing for Women and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am honoured to have the opportunity to work alongside the most dedicated team of staff I have come across in my career.
