DESCRIPTION:Often referred to as the Annual General Meeting\, Synod is the governing body of the Diocese; made up of all the licensed clergy\, lay representatives of all the parishes\, ex officio members\, and the bishop. \nAll members of the community are welcome to join the opening Eucharist Thursday\, October 20 at 7pm at Christ Church Cathedral\, where the Bishop will be delivering his Address. \nThe business session of Synod will take place Friday and Saturday at the St. Elias Conference & Banquet Centre. \nThursday\, October 20 Christ Church Cathedral – 414 Sparks Street\, Ottawa 7:00 pm: Opening Eucharist \nFriday\, October 21 St. Elias Conference & Banquet Centre – 750 Ridgewood Avenue\, Ottawa 7:15 am: Registration opens 9:00 am: Synod in session \nSaturday\, October 22 St. Elias Conference & Banquet Centre – 750 Ridgewood Avenue\, Ottawa 9:00 am: Synod in session \nPlease click here to learn more and register.

SUMMARY:Take a Break in support of Cornerstone
DESCRIPTION:Ottawa’s Piano Man\, Dave Kalil hosts virtual concert to raise funds for Cornerstone’s Booth Residents impacted by fire\, mold\, and water damage.\nDave will play on his Facebook page live this Saturday\, October 22nd at 7:30PM EST and help raise crucial funds for Cornerstone.\n\nCornerstone is trying to raise $50\,000 for residents at Booth Street to get their home back.\n\nA pledge of $2.00 per viewer will donate between $100-200 depending on how many people watch the show.\n\nThis summer residents were unexpectedly uprooted due to a fire in one of the rooms that led to extensive water and mold damage throughout their building.\nFor some residents\, this was their first home ever and for others\, this is their new home\, a place to heal and recover from homelessness. Unfortunately\, the facility where residents stayed during this time does not have cooking or laundry facilities onsite\, everything had to be done by a third party\, plus many items need to be replaced for the women\, including mattresses. This resulted in an increase in unexpected expenses.\n\nWe could use your help during our time of need!
