DESCRIPTION:We are proud to share that Canto Art will be hosting her first public exhibition at the Linda Street Gallery inside the Dovercourt Recreation Centre. \n🎨 Exhibit Title: Big Cats\n📅 Dates: May 1 – May 31\, 2026\n📍 Location: Linda Street Gallery\, Dovercourt Recreation Centre\, 411 Dovercourt Ave\, Ottawa\, ON K2A 0S9 \nThis striking collection of ready-to-hang paintings features serene lions\, powerful tigers\, and playful wild felines — each piece full of personality\, movement\, and vibrant energy. \nMost meaningfully\, 40% of all proceeds will support Cornerstone Housing for Women\, helping provide shelter\, housing\, and care for women. \nAbout the Artist\nCanto Art is a resident of Cornerstone whose creativity has brightened our spaces for years. If you’ve visited our Princeton residence\, you may already recognise her beautiful artwork displayed in our common rooms and hallways. Her art also beautifies hallways and common areas at our Eccles and Booth residences.  Painting since childhood and primarily self-taught over several colourful decades\, Canto Art brings a unique spirit to each subject she creates. She is currently completing year two of a BFA at the University of Ottawa\, with plans to continue her studies through a Master’s degree. \nSupport Local Art. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to confirm the dates for our upcoming Boutique Cornerstone Spring Pop-Up Sale: Friday & Saturday\, May 1 & 2.\n\n\nMark your calendars for this fun\, stylish\, and sustainable shopping event in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women. \n2026 will be Boutique Cornerstone’s 6th annual POP-UP Sale in Ottawa\, where 100% of the proceeds benefit Cornerstone Women’s Emergency Shelter. \nBoutique Cornerstone returns May 1 & 2 with designer fashion\, and one-of-a-kind finds for a significantly reduced price\, all in the name of giving back to women in need at Cornerstone Housing for Women. \nBoutique Cornerstone began with approximately 25 donors and now has over 200 donors from Ottawa\, Toronto\, and Montreal. \nCarefully curated\, we have a collection of over 1\,000 articles of women’s clothing\, handbags\, accessories\, and shoes. \nCome shop\, have a coffee\, and learn about how you can support other women in our community who really need the support of other Women! \nIt’s all about women helping women\, upcycling\, and being aware of those in need in our community. \nA huge thank you to the individuals and retailers who have already donated clean\, quality\, and fashionable items. Your generosity helps make this event possible and impactful. Donations are no longer accepted. \nWe are also thrilled to have Cornerstone’s Young Professional Advisory Board join in with energy and fresh ideas to help make this year’s pop-up extra special.
