SUMMARY:Take Back The Night | September 17
DESCRIPTION:Join us on September 17 downtown in Ottawa for Take Back the Night as we stand with survivors and work toward a future free from sexual and gender-based violence. \nTake Back the Night grew out of protests against violence against women in the 1970s\, including early marches in the United States\, and has since become a global movement for safety\, justice and survivor-centred change. \nThis movement matters deeply to us. \nAt Cornerstone\, 218 people accessed our shelter between January and the end of July this year after fleeing abuse. Behind every number is a person whose life has been impacted by violence. \n\nLet’s show our support.\nLet’s walk together.\nLet’s listen to survivors.\n\nSave the date. Bring a friend. Join us. 💜 \n📍 Minto Park\, 102 Lewis Street \n🗓️ Thursday\, September 17\, 2026 \n🕕 6:00 p.m. \nWe are also calling for speakers and survivors to apply to share their story to: info@sasc.com \nLearn More: https://takebackthenight.org/
