DESCRIPTION:Join Cornerstone Housing for Women and community partners as we gather to honour the lives stolen by gender-based violence\, including the 14 women murdered at Montréal’s École Polytechnique in 1989 and the women killed by femicide here in Ottawa. \nDate: Saturday\, December 6\, 2025\nTime: Vigil from 6:00–7:00 p.m.\nLocation: Minto Park\, 102 Lewis St.\, Ottawa\nWarming Centre: 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Bethell Field House\, 166 Frank St. \nThis annual vigil is a time to remember\, reflect\, and call for urgent action to end gender-based violence in all its forms. Gender-based violence is preventable\, and inaction is deadly. \nEvent Features: \n-Bilingual vigil \n-ASL/LSQ interpretation \n-Warm beverages available at the warming centre \n-Media may be in attendance and photography is expected \nWe invite all community members to stand with us in solidarity\, remembrance\, and commitment to change.
