Join us on February 7th\,  10 am-11 am\, and learn more about the basics of leaving a gift in your will\, powers of attorney\, leaving stock donations\, and hear about why one of Cornerstone’s legacy donors\, Christine Gibbard\, is leaving a gift in her will. \nWe will hear from the following guests: \n– The Venerable Kathryn Otley Archdeacon Carleton DeaneryRector\, Christ Church Bells Corners(CCBC) \n-Dennis Molnar\, JD\, practices Family Law\, Estates Law\, and Civil Litigation \n-Alan MacDonald\, CFA\, Investment Advisor and Chartered Financial Analyst for more than 25 years \n-Warren Trickey\, CPA\, retired tax partner with McCay Duff LLP \n– Christine Gibbard is a Cornerstone legacy donor and Financial Advisor at Sunlife on Preston. \nDennis Molnar’s practice includes Family Law and Civil Litigation with a focus on custody/access litigation\, support and property litigation\, property law/property disputes\, estates litigation\, and personal injury. Dennis has appeared before the Ontario Small Claims Court\, Ontario Superior Court of Justice\, Ontario Superior Court of Justice – Family Court\, and Ontario Court of Justice. \nAlan MacDonald has been an Investment Advisor and Chartered Financial Analyst for more than 25 years. As a life-long student of the financial markets\, one of the most important lessons Alan has learned in his career is the essential role of careful planning in ensuring long-term success. A good plan requires clear goals\, a detailed road map for how to achieve them\, and a reliable system for measuring progress through all the inevitable market ups and downs. Alan’s specialty lies in using his experience to help his clients build and execute a customized financial plan\, and then working with them to grow their wealth\, preserve their assets for retirement\, and create a life-changing legacy for future generations. SUMMARY:Coldest Night of the Year (Westboro) - Virtual Charity Walk for Cornerstone
DESCRIPTION:It’s cold out there Ottawa! The Coldest Night of the Year charity walk returns to Ottawa’s Westboro Village — or take it to your very own neighbourhood! \nWe’re running a virtual event this year\, which means you can get your walk on at our special Westboro route\, or wherever is easiest for you. \nCovid-friendly and suitable for the whole family\, we welcome you to come together with your community to raise funds to help us help local women in need of support. \nFeel the bite of the night on February 26 — or any February night that works for you — as a reminder of the hardships people endure when they don’t yet have a home. \n\n\n\n\nAll net proceeds from the event will directly help Cornerstone Housing for Women! We support women in Ottawa experiencing the crisis of homelessness find hope\, healing\, and housing. \n___ \n\n JOIN OUR WALK! \n\nStarting a team of co-workers\, family\, or friends is so easy — or you can sign up individually or with your dog! \nRaise funds and then walk individually or in your team bubbles\, either in your own neighbourhood or on our suggested Westboro routes. Your choice of 2km or 5km! \nWe look forward to seeing lots of photos of where you chose to do your 2km or 5km! \n  \nToque Pick-Up Information: \nThis years toque pick-up date and location\, for walkers who fundraise $150 or more ($75 for children): \nLocation: Front Line Credit Union in Westboro (365 Richmond Rd\, Ottawa\, ON K2A 0E7) \nDates: February 22th and 24th from 4:30PM to 6PM and February 26th from 4PM to 7PM \nWe will be serving up hot chocolate provided by Farm Boy and warm food prepared by our kitchen staff at the pick-up! \nFor questions or special arrangements please contact donate@cornerstonewomen.ca. \n  \n\nNEW THIS YEAR!
