Thugs Need Love Too: Community Art Showcase

Join us for the second annual Thugs Need Love Too, a community art showcase celebrating creativity, culture, grief, joy, and the importance of caring for one another.

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: Albion Heatherington Community Centre, 1560 Heatherington Road, Ottawa
Cost: Free admission

The evening will feature visual artwork, live performances, music, storytelling, and a community ancestral altar honouring loved ones who have passed away. Attendees can also enjoy free food and connect with local organizations sharing information about housing, food security, mental health care, harm reduction, and other community resources.

Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves love, safety, care, and the opportunity to imagine a future beyond survival, this event creates space for community members to come together, celebrate local Black artists, remember loved ones, and build meaningful connections.

Feel free to stop by our table for community resources.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome!
