June 25, 2025The 7th Annual Purple Tie Gala – Our Biggest Yet!
We are thrilled to announce the 7th Annual Purple Tie Gala is set to be our biggest and most impactful celebration yet! On Saturday, October 4, 2025, join us at the stunning Delta Hotel Ballroom (101 Lyon Street North, Ottawa) for an unforgettable evening in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women.
From Black Tie to Purple Tie: The History Behind the Purple Tie Gala
At Cornerstone, we knew that our residents, supporters, and staff deserved more than just another black-tie event. We needed something that reflected the vibrancy, strength, and spirit of the women we serve. That’s how the Purple Tie Gala was born.
Inspired by Jenny Joseph’s iconic poem “Warning”, which begins with “When I am an old woman I shall wear purple,” this gala invites us to show up boldly, live outrageously, and celebrate community with colour and joy.
Over the years, this tradition, started by Jessie-Lee Wallace, has grown into one of Cornerstone’s most impactful events, raising critical funds to support women experiencing homelessness in Ottawa.
This year’s Gala promises to be a night to remember! It will be filled with live entertainment, captivating live and silent auctions, delicious food and drinks, and inspiring community connections. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest purple attire as we raise critical funds to provide safe housing and healing for women experiencing homelessness in Ottawa.
We are deeply grateful to our incredible sponsors whose generosity makes this event possible. MBC Construction returns as our Buy-a-Brick sponsor, Fratelli Westboro will once again craft our signature cocktail, Debbie Chang Realtor is supporting our lounge, and Lupiano Executive Search joins us as a community sponsor. This year, we are also excited to welcome Enchanted Booth, Ottawa’s go-to photo booth rental, bringing extra fun and unforgettable moments to the evening.
Early bird tickets are now available! Don’t miss your chance to be part of this powerful evening of impact, celebration, and community.
