Food is more than nutrition; to us, it is care, dignity, and comfort. Cornerstone serves over 320 women every day, many healing from trauma, homelessness, and violence.
Women and gender-diverse individuals rely on us for meals and nourishment. But rising food costs have pushed us over budget. Our Food costs have increased by 4.5% in the last 6 months, adding $64,146 in unexpected costs.
Between January and October this year, our total loaded food service cost reached $1,425,469, and we expect to serve 273,000 meals by year’s end.
These increases have forced us to rely heavily on community donations, grocery stores, restaurants, and volunteers to keep afloat. Despite all these, we remain committed to providing women with fresh, high-quality, and nutritious meals.
