Women experiencing homelessness are often described as “invisible”. Not because they don’t exist, but because you may not see them.

Oftentimes, women and gender-diverse people rely on other types of shelter such as couch surfing, sleeping in a vehicle, or are forced to practice high-risk survival strategies to maintain housing, such as exchanging sex for shelter or remaining in unsafe or exploitative relationships.

At Cornerstone Housing for Women, we are working hard to meet the increasing need for safe emergency shelter and supportive housing in Ottawa. 

This Giving Tuesday, join us in making the invisible, visible. Together, let's bring our neighbours in from the cold.
